Paul D. Underwood

DOYLESTOWN – Paul D. Underwood, age 68, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024.

Born in Barberton, OH on August 15, 1955 to the late Charles “Chuck” and Shirley (Roberts) Underwood, he had been a life resident of Doylestown. A 1974 graduate of Chippewa High School, he worked as a carpenter at Galehouse Construction. Paul also worked as a body tech at Wadsworth Ford, with his brother as a painter for Underwood Painting, and at GeoRodgers Construction.  A member of the Barberton First Hungarian Society and the Portage Lakes Eagles #2736, he loved fishing, slot car racing, and most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Donald Combs, Paul is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sherry; son, Kyle (Farah) Underwood of Mt. Vernon, OH; grandchildren, Blake, Zoey, and Brigham; siblings, Debra Underwood, Chuck (Becky), Jerry, Dorothy Combs, Dianne (Albert “Paul”) Hatala, Denise Underwood, Trace (April), Jeff, Christine (Scott) Riggs, and Jennifer Underwood (Fiancé Jason Howard) all of the Doylestown area; many nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at the Portage Lakes Eagles #2736, 5899 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH, 44319.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-9959.
